GovCIO Software Architect in Olympia, Washington
Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Software Architect to develop and maintain data intensive applications in support of our client's mission. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA and will be a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
Applying standard software development methodologies as defined in the Software Development Framework (SDF) to successfully complete projects (USPS currently uses Agile methodologies and VersionOne as the standard Agile support tool).
Showing a high level of competence in the USPS, operating environment tools and technology.
Demonstrating knowledge of the assigned systems and an understanding of the USPS business processes that support the systems and operations.
Coding and testing software changes in accordance with standard practices (USPS currently uses SDF, which includes, Enterprise Build System (EBS) (EBS is comprised of Jenkins, SonarQube, JUnit, Selenium, AppScan, etc. for DevSecOps), and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Suite for functional manual, automated functional and performance testing).
Providing user support and problem resolution for assigned work.
Creating and maintaining required system and technical documentation.
Providing on-call and after hours support as required to support the production systems.
Addressing all SDLC such as: designing, building, testing, and implementing operating systems changes or patches.
Communicating project status, deliverables, priorities, problems, risks, issues, and contingencies as directed by Endpoint Technology personnel.
Effectively and proactively working with customers/end users of application(s) to ensure needs are being met/managed in a positive manner.
Developing as directed by project leaders/managers.
Providing monthly status reports, including key performance metrics, as defined in the SDF.
Providing turnover documentation, including but not limited to transition planning, documented best practices, and workflow improvements, as required by project leaders/managers.
Providing integrated architectural and program support services for the USPS Endpoint Technology.
Providing a comprehensive range of support services to the USPS that include network systems and desktop computing support, application design, telecom system development and implementation, risk reduction, and maintenance.
Providing technical advisory and functional industry advisory services and deliverables.
Qualifications
Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience developing software systems utilizing Unified Process (UP), Rapid Application Development (RAD) and Agile methodologies.
Demonstrated experience in designing, architecting, developing, and delivering Java Two Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications.
Demonstrated experience in the development of 3 and 4-tier web applications.
Demonstrated experience in conducting user story writing workshops and hosting Agile ceremonies and Agile support tools.
Clearance required: Ability to obtain/maintain a public trust
Must have been within the US for the last 5 years (consecutive)

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range
USD $146,765.00 - USD $197,000.00 /Yr.
