Overview:Our client, a well-known and established engineering, surveying, and planning firm, seeks a Senior Planner to join their growing team. The ideal candidate acts as a project manager on various independent and team activities in the areas of permitting, planning, and policy projects in the Pacific Northwest. This is a long-term, direct hire role located in Olympia, WA.A few of the perks:Comprehensive medical/dental/vision packageEmployer-paid HSA contributionsBonuses + 401K + PTO + HolidaysWork/Life BalanceResponsibilities:Project Manager for permitting, planning, and policy projects, including preparation of proposals, client coordination, permit processes, and completing billings/change ordersPrepare proposalsManage relationships with existing and future clientsMaintain project budgetsAssist with oversight of planning employees as assigned on projects tasksParticipate in the hiring process, employee goal setting, and yearly work plansPrepare staff reports and present information at public meetings and hearingsCoordinate public meetings/outreach effortsResearch jurisdictional requirements, codes, and policiesFind, maintain, and fill out jurisdictional forms and applicationsSubmit permit forms and applicationsPrepare RFP/RFQ for planning projectsPrepare GIS mapsAttend pre-application, application, and pre-construction meetingsAttend client meetings and conference callsCoordinate with sub-consultants for needed design servicesAttend site walksProofread and edit documents prepared by planning staffPrepare complex technical reportsPrepare project narratives and response lettersProject feasibility reportsRequirements:5+ years of experience of planning experience required, 8+ years preferredBachelor's degree in civil engineering, economics, environmental sciences,geography, planning, or political science preferredUnderstand permitting/project management processes, principles, and practices of planning and/or public policyAbility to read, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and policiesDetail-oriented, organized, multi-tasking, and good follow-through skillsExcellent verbal & written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsValid driver's license requiredWork sponsorship is not available at this time.
