Humana Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in Olympia, Washington

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The IPA Senior Business Intelligence Engineer - Building pricing tools to accomplish MAPD bids with innovative design and platforms that drive efficiency with the utmost quality and speed.

In the first year this role will focus on the following:

  • Design, create and deliver tools to optimize iMA pricing processes

  • Develop effective partnerships with MAPD leaders/subject matter experts and IT to implement appropriately technical solutions

  • Work in an agile way to produce, interpret and recommend real time optimization opportunities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and quickly pivot based on business needs

  • Being an individual contributor who helps drive business decisions, and deliver outcomes aligned to department goals and objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in designing workflows, data visualizations, interoperable tools OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of similar technical experience

  • Expert Power Platform developer (Apps, Automate, BI, Copilot, Pages, and data connections)

  • Experience with cloud-based ecosystems (Databricks, ASA, Azure)

  • Experience using Python for application development or data analytics

  • 2 years of database development experience with tSQL/ PL/SQL

  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting

  • Ability to make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components with minimal direction

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on quality and speed to market

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Advanced in SQL, Python, SAS or other coding languages

  • Experience with ETL software like SSIS

  • Healthcare or managed care experience

Additional Information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$78,800 - $108,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
