Job Description
Intel's Technology Development Component Research (TD CR) delivers innovative device technologies and architectures to enable Intel's roadmap. Quantum computing has the potential to transform the industry by achieving large computational speed-ups over classical computers. Advances in quantum technologies have propelled quantum computing from a theoretical physics field to experimental physics and engineering.
Come join us as part of an Intel team exploring quantum computing hardware, specifically spin qubits in silicon. We are looking for either theorists focused on the modeling of quantum circuits / devices, or experimentalists focused on building and characterizing spin qubit devices or systems. The scope could include developing control software to automate the characterization, calibration, and control of quantum devices. You will also work with researchers across Intel to tap into the latest findings.
Qualifications
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must be pursuing a PhD in Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Quantum Information, or Quantum Technologies.
3+ years experience with the quantum computing or low temperature quantum device physics from either the experimental, theoretical or device modeling perspective.
The internship will be located in Hillsboro, Oregon during the summer of 2024.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
