The Opportunity The WSDOT Printing & Digitization Services Office (PaDS) is currently seeking an Assistant Manager for their dynamic team. The Printing & Digitization Services Office (PaDS) provides all WSDOT with efficient and cost-effective printing, duplicating and electronic document services. PaDS is responsible for coordinating and printing, assembly and distribution of contract plans, special provisions (PS&E), addenda and support documents for the weekly advertising of all WSDOT highway, ferry, rail, and facilities construction projects. PaDS also plays a key role in supporting agency policy goals related to print management strategies, public outreach, and increased remote work access through digitization of all files necessary to conduct business. The office is also responsible for printing forms, manuals, legislative and training material on demand. What to Expect This position is the assistant to the PaDS Manager and is responsible for performing business analysis, fiscal duties, and a variety of production work to support the PaDS Office. This position develops cost recovery rates for approval by FHWA; monitors, identifies, and facilitates correction of problems with equipment operations; actively identifies and implements process improvements for all office operations; performs specialized accounting activities in the accounts payable and receivable system; and acts as lead worker for bindery operations. This position supports WSDOT's mission and the ability to meet the project delivery schedule by providing in-plant printing & distribution services efficiently and economically.? As the agency shifts to increased teleworking in the post-COVID environment, this position is responsible for advising and assisting the PaDS Manager to update the office business model to increase activities such as high-volume scanning and digitization, providing archiving support, and other innovative means of supporting evolving agency goals. Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Printing & Digitization Assistant Manager will: * Independently perform specialized financial tasks as the accountant for Printing Services. * Analyze and maintain accounting reports produced by the Transportation Reporting and Accounting Information System (TRAINS) including work order ledgers, M5 consumable inventory system, stores payable report and past due receivable detail reports. * Investigate and resolve any financial discrepancies. * Provide the Printing Services Manager advice and assistance interpreting all financial reports. * Review and analyze accounts receivable data produced from TRAINS and the Advanced Accounts Receivable Billing System (AARBS). * Analyze data and implement necessary corrections to accounting systems based on the analysis. * Prepare all documents for accounts payable and receivable required at the close of each fiscal year. Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required: Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office, Adobe DC, FileMaker Pro, TRAINS, AARBS, the DataWarehouse and other accounting software. Ability to perform a variety of complex accounting functions in support printing of and Printing Services. Ability to operate computers, computer networks and electronic printing and job storage. Knowledge and ability to operate high speed digital copiers and wide format plotter/scanners. Ability to lift and move large stacks of paper and full cases of paper up to 50lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time in an environment with odors of chemicals, ink, toner and dust.
