Position Purpose This position reports to the Parking Supervisor 1 and, under general supervision, is responsible for responding to inquiries regarding the parking services and fleet motor pool operation departmental services and procedures and serves as the primary point of contact for customers. The position is responsible for receiving and recording Parking Services related cash, check, and/or credit card transactions, such as permit purchases and daily parking fees and fines through the Parking Services front office counter. The incumbent is responsible for the daily reconciliation and preparation of cash tills, change funds, petty cash funds, and daily deposits for all parking services revenue sources. The position ensures the parking services and fleet motor pool databases are maintained and reflect accurate payments/transaction records. Nature and Scope Essential Functions Provide superior customer care and while following established guidelines, respond to inquiries related to the parking and motor pool unit by providing information related to parking and fleet motor pool rules and regulations, explaining regulations to customers, as well as providing general campus information. Perform clerical duties, such as preparing notices and statements to be mailed, answering telephones and email, filing, and typing reports for the department. Receive cash, checks, and/or credit card payments for parking related transactions within the Parking Services office and issue receipt for payments. Reconcile daily transaction activity from all revenue sources, including office and booth transactions, web portal payments, and parking meters and pay stations. Verify, consolidate, and balance cash, check, and credit card receipts, make and maintain reports, and prepare and complete daily bank deposits. Prepare inter-departmental recharges for parking services to other campus departments. Issue guest/visitor parking validation codes upon request from authorized campus department requestors. Work with college personnel to process motor pool vehicle reservation requests and verify vehicle availability. Ensure motor pool drivers have completed required driver permit process, including vehicle safety training and driving history clearances. Operate calculator and computer software to record payments and post to accounts and database. Compute fees and input data into computer systems. Reconcile parking payroll deduction charges and payments. Post fines and fees to student accounts and reconcile payments from student accounts to parking database.
