Description Mental Health Counselor Masters - Providence St. Peter Hospital SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE, averaging 40 hours per week. Four, 10-hour DAY shifts. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (with option for Thursday to switch). PES-Crisis Services: Involuntary Treatment Act/Single Bed Certifications: The Mental Health Counselor-MA (MHC-MA), working as a member of a Court Liaison and Involuntary Treatment Act team, is a mental health professional who performs a broad range of duties and responsibilities based upon advanced knowledge and understanding of the Involuntary Treatment Act, Single Bed Certifications, and associated behavioral health services. The MHC-MA is an integral part of the hospital team supporting patients to receive the best quality of care possible across the hospital settings, while planning for transition to alternative inpatient or community settings. This role encompasses client counseling, mental health and safety assessment, advocacy, case management, discharge planning, care plan/coordination meetings, and court filings and testimony. The MHC-MA provides timely charting and performs administrative tasks in an electronic health record. The MHC-MA must qualify for a Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor credential with the state of WA DOH, OR hold an Associate-level or higher license in the social services, per RCW 71.04. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychosocial/Mental Health Field. 1 year Clinical crisis evaluation and intervention in an acute psychiatric setting with an emphasis on quick assessment skills.
