Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Skytap, a Kyndryl company, is looking for talented Frontend Software Engineers to join a team writing full-stack JavaScript using Node.js. As a member of the Frontend team, you will use your coding skills and eye for usability to develop the user interface of the Skytap application. You will take ownership of the features you deliver by providing input early in the design process, by providing estimates and setting project schedules, and by delivering on your commitments. What you build will enable our customers to create and manage their public cloud resources and will shape how our customers perceive the ease-of-use and performance of Skytap Cloud.

We release new features and fixes each week. We believe in setting engineers up for success, and that includes fostering an environment of collaboration and helpfulness on our team, as well as leveraging documentation and runbooks so knowledge is shared and accessible. Our service is built primarily with open source software and languages, including Linux, JavaScript, Node.js, and React, and thoroughly tested via a robust suite of automated tests. We also use our own product to power the development process!

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with a cross-functional project team to develop and ship UI features and UI improvements.

  • You will review user stories and designs with PMs, UX designers, and other developers to understand requirements and provide feedback early to shape the direction of projects

  • Redesign UIs to improve visual appeal and usability, and refactor code for extensibility, maintainability, and scalability

  • Use the latest standards and your favorite editor to write modular JavaScript that will run in both the browser (Edge, Safari, Firefox, Chrome) and on the server in Node.js.

  • Build interaction-heavy web UIs with React and Redux.

  • Style the web UI using CSS.

  • test your code with unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests written with mocha, sinon, should.js, zombie.js, cucumber and selenium.

  • Work closely with our quality assurance team during the project specification and implementation to make sure we always deliver a high quality product that wows our customers

  • Commit your code using Git version control, and use Jenkins, Docker, and other CI/CD tools to build and deploy your code
