IT Systems Administrator -- Senior, ITC Liaison

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our IT Division. If so, join the DNR IT Division as a Systems Admin -- Senior/Specialist / ITC Liaison, collaborating with regional IT partners to manage non-centralized solutions, advise on the selection and architecture of new solutions, and assess IT needs, provide training and support and ensure the effective use of enterprise IT tools in the regions. We're seeking an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills to join us in supporting our vibrant and diverse agency in its mission, to work as part of a cohesive team, and to uphold a professional and positive demeanor while working under tight deadlines as priorities shift.    The ITC Liaison acts as a lead position responsible for the collaboration between the Regions IT staff and the central enterprise IT division. When acting in Tier 3 situations, this position is responsible for developing processes, procedures, training, and documentation. Also, developing the same tools for enterprise solutions for Region ITCs. This position will be responsible for traveling regularly to different regions in the state to work hand in hand with the ITCs and understand their non-centralized solutions, and their specific needs and to design solutions and advocate for their needs with central IT staff.   Please Note: This position has the flexibility to work remotely part-time, however, it will be required to travel regularly to the regions and work with field staff.  It may also be required to come into the office occasionally. The duty station is in Olympia, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for in-office rotations, key scheduled meetings, or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking considerations will be addressed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and liaise with technical staff in the Regions to assess IT needs, provide training and support, and ensure effective utilization of IT resources
  • Develop plan, design, and implement new technologies and solutions for the regions
  • Resolve incidents and conduct root cause analysis of critical region system outages
  • Provide on-the-ground backup and support for region IT.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with region IT staff to standardize IT purchasing in the regions and for fire teams.

*Required Qualifications: *

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field AND 7 or more years of professional IT experience; OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.

Experience in systems integration or end-point architecture, supporting over 1000 customers.

Experience in leadership and consultation for projects and enterprise systems that carry out organization-wide information technology functions.

Experience in architectural analysis and design developing enterprise projects.

Experience leading a team of technology professionals to develop and achieve goals.
