Please Note: This is a non-permanent position, anticipated to last up to six months. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star.We are in need of a temporary Engineer within our WA Soldiers Home. In this role, you'll be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the Steam Plant and associated campus-wide subsystems. This will also include fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency power, HVAC, domestic water and campus infrastructure.Your experience will be critical in enhancing the appearance of our facility, while providing comfort to our residents. DutiesSome of what you'll be doing includes: *Conducting safe Steam Plant start up, adjustments and optimization; monitoring gauges, meters and operating panels. *Planning and executing repairs and preventative maintenance to Steam Plant and associated systems such as boilers, pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, control systems, water softener, domestic water system, chemical injection system, piping, steam traps, heat exchangers, diesel generators, switchgear, etc. *Maintaining boiler chemistry through feed water testing and water treatment. *Conducting all scheduled fire drills and coordinating fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher and fire door and hood inspections. *Maintaining and repairing all mechanical rooms, air handling units, ventilation and filtration systems, dampers, split systems, and individual air conditioning units.
