Washington State DSHS OOS Enterprise Service Bus Senior System Administrator in Olympia, Washington

Description Are you looking for a unique role where you can innovate and have a long-term impact on the service delivery of multiple large organizations? The Office of the Secretary (OOS), Technology Services Division, needs an expert system administrator and experienced technology leader like you to manage our technology platform that enables service delivery and eligibility determination on a massive scale. In this senior role, you will use your relationship building, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to interact with various stakeholders and subject matter experts from multiple external State/Federal agencies and vendors. This highly dynamic role serves as lead administrator for the Enterprise Service Bus infrastructure. The Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is a platform used by multiple agencies for the operation of multiple systems such as the Health Benefits Exchange, ProviderOne, and the Agency Financial Reporting System. We need your expertise in the several components that enable the ESB system, including IBM Message Queue (MQ), IBM Message Broker, and IBM Integration Bus (IIB). As you maintain this mission-critical system you will get to work across the state with other technology teams and stakeholders that utilize the ESB platform, giving the ability to securely share and/or transform data between mission-critical applications and systems that are used to determine eligibility for DSHS services and health care. Some of what you’ll do: * Lead the coordination of multiple local IT and partner agency IT staff to assure that interfaces and transformations do not clash or break or otherwise impact each other when changes occur * Maintain, enforce, and enhance security between ESB interfaces and associated applications * Independently plan, design, and implement future capacity and/or performance needs and enhancements * Establish and continuously review and improve through defining best practices, repeatable processes including internal and external audits and logging reviews * Lead subordinate IT technicians to review security scan results and ensure vulnerabilities are mitigated and resolved * Write, build, test, debug, and deploy message flows using programming languages such as PowerShell, C#, C, .NET, Java SQL, and/or ESQL * Add or change data elements to the ESB Dashboard which displays real-time data statistics * Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of technical initiatives by working with vendors and consulting with ESB customers * Independently plan, document, and test Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning activities We're looking for a professional with: * A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field OR * At least 10 years recent (within the last 12 years) of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, installing, and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure systems, providing technical support in information technology* * AND * Two years of IT supervisory or lead experience. * Five years within the last seven years of experience administering Message Broker and Message Queue *AND * Three years of experience in the following: * XML schemas and Web Service Description Language * WMB/IIB flow development * Three years of C and C# programming * Windows/Linus scripting and ASP development. * Java programming * SQL * Unix/Linux This job will be classified as an IT System Administration - Senior/Specialist.
