Domestic Violence High-Risk Team Coordinator

In addition to the below requirements, successful applicants must meet the following requirements:

Newly hired for the Domestic Violence High-Risk team's coordinator position should have demonstrable, existing relationships with community partners, experience navigating systems that have privileged information and maintaining confidentiality, at least two years of experience providing services to high-risk survivors of domestic violence, and meets the initial and ongoing training requirements of WAC 388-61A-1080.

Number of Hours/Week: 35 hours per week

*Normal Work Schedule:  * Monday through Thursday; 8:00 am-5:15 pm

* SUMMARY*

The Domestic Violence High Risk Team Coordinator (DVHRTC) will be employed by and operate out of SafePlace. They will be the primary point of contact with the Geiger Institute. They will oversee scheduling and coordinating the logistics of all trainings, video conference calls, etc., with the Geiger Institute and other partner organizations in Thurston County as appropriate. They will also attend all technical assistance calls and trainings. This employee will provide training to other SafePlace employees on how to use the lethality assessment.

 The DVHRTC will participate in monthly Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) meetings and regular meetings with other DVHRT members. This employee will conduct lethality assessments with SafePlace clients to determine their need for DVHRT enrollment. They will provide ongoing advocacy, safety planning, and support to clients in the DVHRT program. This may include court accompaniment and support at law enforcement interviews. The DVHRTC will prioritize safety planning with identified high-risk clients and will help connect survivors to safe shelters and hotels as appropriate. The DVHRTC will collaborate with team members from the High-Risk Team (HRT) to ensure the safety and voice of the survivor is at the table during meetings. The DVHRTC will work closely with their Program Manager to gather and document relevant data for the team to access progress and gaps in services.

* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide legal advocacy to high-lethality DV clients. These services include:

  1. accompaniment during legal proceedings at civil and superior court as
  2. Assist clients with criminal hearings, civil protection orders, and family law hearings as requested
  3. Support at law enforcement interviews
  4. Support at relevant medical
  5. Provide advocacy and assist clients in gathering information connected to immigration.
  6. Ensure current statistics on clients are maintained and properly
  7. Ensure ongoing case management is provided to High-Risk Survivors and keep documentation up to date in SAW and SafePlace's case note
