Summary:

Here at Meta, the Developer Advocacy team supports the relationship between Meta technologies software developers worldwide. Our Developer Advocates promote standards and good development practices by actively engaging with developer communities, raising awareness of the company's developer-centric activities, and guiding and educating those developers.Our team is highly technical and dedicated to open and honest communication, world-class software, and strong community citizenship.In this role, you will interact with the most innovative engineers inside and outside of Meta every day. You will write code samples, present demos, articles, and tutorials to promote and highlight a wide range of technology stacks, and relevant, contemporary software development techniques and trends.You will represent Meta at developer conferences, events, hackathons, and with the technical press and bloggers. You will work on open source software projects in a variety of programming languages. You will advocate internally for the developer community's needs, working with Facebook product and engineering teams to influence features and technology strategy.

Required Skills:

  1. Create code samples, demos, prototypes, articles, and tutorials to engage technical audiences at scale

  2. Establish credibility with developers and developer communities as a thought leader

  3. Own and drive community engagement for a range of technologies

  4. Present technical sessions at conferences, running workshops, and hands-on hackathons

  5. Liaise with the Facebook product and engineering teams to communicate third-party feedback

  6. Collaborate with internal teams to understand and vocalize open source and developer community building strategies

  7. Execute new strategies to increase and maximize engagement with the right audiences on the proper channels

  8. Grow, manage, and maintain a positive public profile with the community at large

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS in Computer Science, or an equivalent degree and experience

  2. 2+ years experience presenting to technical audiences

  3. 5+ years coding experience in contemporary languages and environments - such as JavaScript, PHP, Objective-C, Java, .NET, Python, Ruby - and in the open-source community, as candidates will complete Facebook's 6-week engineering bootcamp

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience as a Developer Advocate

  2. Advanced Degrees in Computer Science or some other Technical Field

  3. Experience creating high-quality coding tutorials, videos, presentations and demos

  4. Recognized as a thought leader in either AI/ML or React in the developer community

  5. Experience contributing to and using open source technologies
