The Role:

Zurich Resilience Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to join a growing team of sales professionals. This role will support the growth of our climate related services in North America. This is a remote work role, ideally positioned near a Zurich office; however, we may consider other locations within the US. This role includes a company car with expected travel at 20-30%.

In this role you will help deliver profitable growth throughthe distribution of our climate related services within the US. The goal is to enhance our market presence, identify and grow newer, less mature customer/distributor relationships and increase market share.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue opportunities within the Zurich Risk Engineering function by working closely with team members and through broader colleague engagement.

  • Must thrive in an unstructured, dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • Responsible for source producing opportunities and following up on warm opportunities generated by lead generation specialist.

  • Promote the company’s products and services by predicting and addressing clients’ risk management objectives.

  • Identify opportunities to develop and sell partner service propositions.

  • Collaborate within a team of sales representatives to support business income targets.

  • Support and educate colleagues throughout the business to build sales pipelines and convert leads.

  • Complete and maintain detailed opportunity assessment/pipeline with key distributors and customers to identify growth opportunities.

  • Build strong business relationships at multiple levels of the distributor and customer organizations.

  • Conduct periodic reviews with distributors and customers to manage their performance to ensure execution of the business plan.

  • In partnership with underwriting and the S&D team, negotiate to close accounts with distributors and customers.

  • Build internal relationships with organizational Business Units to facilitate a unified face to market.

  • Serve as the escalation point for distributors/customers on service and business.

  • Must be comfortable in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.

  • Strong industry relationships are preferred as this role is mainly focused on driving revenue through direct to customer selling.

Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check as this position includes a company car.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 7 or more years of experience in Insurance/Brokerage and/or Risk Engineering areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Sales and/or Risk Engineering areaOR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales and/or Risk Engineering areaAND

  • Entrepreneurial approach with a general understanding of delivering and developing value propositions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance industry large account experience within Risk Engineering, Sales and Distribution and/or underwriting.

  • Demonstrated experience in complex sales, building and maintaining collaborative relationships.

  • Experience navigating business relationships andworking knowledge of climate related services/products.

  • A clear understanding of customer segmentation, and the requirements in dealing with customers in these differing groups.

  • Involvement in delivering large corporate negotiations and agreements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include presentations.

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $110,700.00 - $181,400.00.
