Guardian Life Business Analyst II in Olympia, Washington

The Business Operations Analyst II will partner within the Underwriting Execution team to execute on data analysis and process efficiencies by creating and programming tools directed at improving the effectiveness of our Underwriting and Rating functions.

You will

  • Support the business through identifying and driving process and system improvements that align with the department strategies.

  • Support production process improvements and efficiencies through data modeling, tool and reporting development, maintenance, or enhancements.

  • Conduct research and analysis for projects obtaining input from the frontline business users, leadership, and business partners (Underwriting, Pricing, Sales, IT, etc.) necessary to support business solutions.

  • Develop innovative approaches to improving efficiencies in current data and understanding how new data could be applied to enhance current and future UW execution.

  • Assist with conducting time studies and maintaining models to measure capacity.

You have

  • Ability to build appropriate analytics and tool solutions to support business service objectives.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and software, including Excel. Tableau and Salesforce a plus.

  • Experience with data reporting, relational databases, VBA and SQL.

  • Agility in handling multiple tasks and responding rapidly to changing priorities.

  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and processes.

  • Insurance domain and products experience, working in Quoting, Underwriting, Rating subject areas a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.

This position reports to the Leader, Underwriting Effectiveness & Execution

Location /Travel

Remote - WFH Flexibility or from any Guardian office. May be expected to come into a Guardian work location occasionally, as determined by their people leader.

Occasional 0-10% Travel

Salary Range

$55,570.00 - $92,610.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
