This position is an "at-will" appointment, exempt from Washington State Civil Service rules and the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime requirements. Position Purpose This position works with the Assistant Dean of Students to provide vision, leadership, and direction in administering the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities and supporting the management of the student rights and responsibilities program at The Evergreen State College (Evergreen). The position provides implementation and assessment of the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities for the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities to advance Evergreen's mission and goals and coordinating efforts within the unit and with others through the development of effective communication and positive working relationships. The position is responsible for strategic planning of Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities resources, programs, and processes, overall direction, leadership, and oversight of a team of college employees who serve as investigators and adjudicators, and managing an operating budget in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Students. Nature and Scope This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and serves as a member of the Student Engagement, Equity, and Support (SEES) leadership team. The position exists primarily to provide leadership and guidance for the educational purpose and administration of Evergreen's Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities (Code), serves as the Senior Student Conduct Official as defined by WAC 174-123, ensures the rights of students through managing and ensuring timely due process and appropriate resolution of allegations of Code violations, and understanding and managing the intersections between SRR, Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation Team (CARE), Title IX, and other avenues of reporting. This includes conducting and/or supervising investigations, including discrimination, sexual misconduct, and Title IX related cases; ensuring due process in all cases; proposing/determining/reviewing corrective action, as appropriate; and managing the development and retention of accurate and comprehensive investigation reports and student conduct records. This position is responsible for ensuring communication broadly regarding the purpose and purview of the Code; the adjudication of complaints as appropriate; investigating reports of retaliation against individuals who file complaints; documenting findings of investigations; interpreting state and federal laws as they relate to cases and policies; maintaining records regarding the experience of the institution in matters related to complaints; making r
