Description What You'll Do: As the Software Engineer, Tactical SME, you will join an elite team providing support to a cutting-edge software system designed to improve the warfighter's training experience. This position will be based at NAS Whidbey Island, WA, and will require CONUS, and potentially OCONUS, travel. Requirements Who You Are: You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aeronautical Science, or an equivalent technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution You have at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains, and at least 3 years of acquisition experience, with two (2) years directly supporting DoD Training and Training System Acquisition Education and/or experience in the field of data analytics is a plus Experience utilizing Python is a plus Demonstrated experience with current and future military equipment, systems, and associated tactics (U.S., allied, and threat nations) These characteristics also describe you: You can establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities ASEC is committed to providing access and reasonable accommodation in its services, activities, programs, and employment opportunities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable laws. Security Clearance Requirements: This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
