Habitat for Humanity of Island County Resource Development Manager in Oak Harbor, Washington

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Volunteer Development -- including processing new volunteers, orientation, coordinating with other departments for volunteer needs. Strengthen the volunteer development program, increase awareness of Habitat in the broader community and growing the overall number of volunteers to strengthen the link between volunteerism and financial support.
  • Maintains and grows monthly and semi-annual 1,000 Friends campaign, Cars for Homes, and other donor relations.
  • Coordinating with the CDO for fundraising campaigns, events, and awareness. Help implement marketing plans and materials for fundraising campaigns and events, as well as community relations or volunteer programs.
  • Coordinate various media sources such as print, electronic mail and social media resources including a quarterly newsletter. Also includes working with the stores to streamline advertising to create a fluid brand presence and appearance.
  • Maintain Salesforce program and ongoing database management.
  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgements are sent, development records are reconciled with accounting records, donor and prospect files and the database is maintained.
  • Identify opportunities and effectively execute strategies for enhancing relationships within the philanthropic community as well as potential corporate partners.
  • Create outreach opportunities to make informational presentations to churches, business, civic organizations, and other community groups.
  • Develop relationships with the local nonprofit community for the purpose of collaboration, information, and support.
  • Represent Habitat at public events and in other contexts as needed. Be a willing partner with other staff in all aspects of Habitat's mission.
  • Develop proficiencies in various software programs such as Salesforce, Canva, Constant Contact, and others as needed
  • Assist with website content, and creation.
  • All additional tasks as required and necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 3+years professional experience in non-profit fundraising or development.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours/week, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Embraces and exemplifies the Mission of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of development and strategies and how they can be supported by diverse activities.
  • Strong sales skills combined with good interpersonal skills to work successfully with individuals and groups at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and implementation skills.
  • Direct Reports: in coordination with the CDO; Volunteer Coordinator/s.

SALARY/ BENEFITS:
