MT. BAKER-SNOQUALMIE NATIONAL FOREST GS-0462-5/6/7 Forestry Technician (Integrated Resources) Non-Supervisory, Multiple Positions Perman in North Bend, Washington

About the Positions:

 

The Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest will soon be advertising four non-supervisory PSE 18/8 GS-0462-5/6/7 Forestry Technician (Integrated Resources) positions that will support summer and winter field operations throughout the national forest. Full performance for the positions will be at the GS-07 level, but the Forest is supportive of career ladder development. Positions may be filled at the following duty locations: North Bend, Sedro-Woolley or Skykomish, WA.  Regardless of duty station work may be conducted on all areas of the national forest.

 

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie is a picturesque landscape with a thriving and unique ecosystem. There are a wide variety of fish, wildlife, and plant species, as well as thriving forest resource use. These positions will assist in duties that protect both those resources and species in a sustainable way to ensure future use. Duties may include a variety of science based technical surveys (timber, hydrology, fish, wildlife, soil, and plant), invasive plant management, habitat assessments, timber sale lay out, and a variety of other duties that assist in the management of the national forest.

 

The Integrated Resource Technician is mostly field going, however there maybe times when office duties are necessary. The position performs field related technical evaluation and assessment work across watershed, fisheries, wildlife and timber related natural resources. The position also performs data entry and some report writing related to the field work being conducted.
