*LOCATION:                 * Realty, Nespelem, WA

 

*Basic Functions:   *This is a Non-Exempt position. The incumbent serves as a Realty Assistant/Lease Compliance Officer in preparing realty correspondence, maintenance of logs and clearing and categorizing files to support the management of the subsurface leasing, leasing, permits, easements and rights-of-way. The purpose of this position is to provide on-site visits and inquiry for lease compliance purposes. The incumbent prepares reports and realty correspondence, maintenance of logs and clearing and categorizing files or documents to aid in delivery of documents or files to the appropriate file format. Support work is conducted in an effective and efficient manner. The integrity and dispatch with which the work is accomplished is vital in fulfilling the obligations of the Bureau of Indian Affairs in carrying out the Federal trust responsibilities established by applicable statutes, regulations, court decisions, policies, and procedures. Work assignments involve the typing and maintenance of logs, and data sheets, and processing of conventional realty transactions in accordance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures or instructions. Guidelines are found in federal regulation of general and specific application, Titles 25 of the U.S. Code and Code of Federal Regulations; handbooks on Federal Indian law, Federal Register, Departmental and Bureau of Indian Affairs manual and policy directives; appropriate Federal, state, or tribal laws, tribal codes and resolutions; formal and informal Solicitors; opinions; precedent action and court decisions rendered by Federal and State courts, the Attorney General, and Comptroller General and the Interior Board of Indian appeals; and professional texts and manuals. This position would out in the field and in intense/conflict situations.

*Education and Training: *

  • Typically requires a AA Degree from an accredited college or university in AND twelve (12) months of progressively responsible Realty and/or land related type of work experience; OR
  • Thirty-six (36) months post-high school education experience demonstrating advanced office management skills, organizational responsibilities and some Realty and/or land related type of work experience that clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must possess a valid State Driver's License and be eligible to operate a Government-owned motor vehicle to perform office duties and maintain throughout employment.
  • Must successfully clear a criminal background inquiry and maintain clearance throughout the duration of employment required Disclosure of pending or current charges required.
  • Must follow federal clearance/training requirements for utilization of applications IT system and maintain throughout employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires to have broad working knowledge of the rules and procedures of Real Estate Service Management as applied to Tenure and Management section.
