Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Northwest Region, Colville Agency, Transportation in Nespelem, Washington. Responsibilities Provide expert diagnosis and repair of heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders and motor graders. Primary expert to determine the extent of repairs and perform needed repairs. Ability to maintain records of maintenance of all equipment. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through the experience shown in your written resume and your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire that you possess the competencies to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision. (INCLUDE BLUEPRINT READING) TROUBLESHOOTING As an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Leader, I have performed work as a journeyman level mechanic without more than normal supervision in repairing major components and assemblies on diesel engineering equipment and automotive equipment and engines. I have performed difficult and complex tasks involving troubleshooting, diagnosing, overhauling, repairing, and modifying vehicles/equipment. I have performed the above work on heavy mobile equipment (example: dump trucks, garbage packers, sewer pumpers, loaders, graders, rollers, paving machines) with a high level of independence. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
