Synrad has come to be recognized as a leader in the development of sealed CO2 lasers and electro-optics technologies. Based on our patented "All Metal" tube technology, there are now well over 250,000 Synrad lasers in use throughout the world. Synrad lasers are used in a wide variety of industrial applications, including marking, coding, engraving, cutting, and converting on a wide range of target materials.Position OverviewThe position of a Synrad RF Engineer is a specialized position where a plethora of challenges awaits. We are seeking a motivated, senior-level RF Engineer to work with multidisciplinary NPI engineering and continuous improvement teams to develop next generation RF amplifiers and build out the tests, tools, processes, and culture required to both develop world leading new products and improve product quality and productivity. The RF engineer will develop new RF amplifiers for plasma excitation, troubleshoot and support existing designs, develop product improvements, and assist in the movement of new products into production by defining, designing and implementing methods, processes and product changes to address internal and external quality defects while enabling the ultimate success of our operators and technicians.Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the design of new RF electronics to drive Synrad laser products, from design to implementation, troubleshooting, and documentation.Design and develop experiments and prototypes of RF circuits, laser gas discharge loads and other equipment and facilities.Perform RF hardware development including design enhancement, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM creation.Perform RF measurements and characterization of modules, circuits, and components.Design test plans and analyze experimental data.Collect accurate and conclusive test data and maintain detailed documentation.Works with all levels of production and engineering to nurture a culture of continuous improvement by providing a high-level of support (collaborative problem-solving) for the ideas and pain-points of the team.Drive deep into existing/legacy products to define, characterize and improve internal performance and assembly processes, as well as improve specifications and direction for suppliers.Stay current on latest and emerging RF devices and technologies by maintaining relationships with suppliers, reading technical white papers, etc.Adhere to aggressive deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.Education and Experience: BSc (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (MSEE preferred)Practical 6-10+ years' experience in an NPI development environmentDemonstrated ability take design from concept to productionAbility to work and communicate with a range of people (from Engineers to non-technical staff)HF/VHF Solid-state amplifiers and self-excited oscillators.HF/VHF Semiconductors, RF components, and manufactures of such.Class C, D, and E modes of operation.High frequency printed circuit board desig
