We are inviting applications for a Staff Accountant in the service industry, located in MUKILTEO, Washington. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As an Entry-Level Accountant, you will be involved in varied accounting functions such as processing customer transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling customer inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable, including comparing purchase orders to pack slips, obtaining invoice coding & approvals, and processing and printing checks.

• Accumulate and post month-end journal entries including AP accrual, Visa & AmEx accrual, bank transactions, prepaid amortization, and other accruals & amortizations.

• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and receivables bank statement.

• Process credit card expenses by obtaining Visa & AmEx receipts, approvals, and verifying to policy.

• Complete paperwork & payment for Annual Reports & Business Licenses.

• Manage Personal Property Taxes by tracking rentals placed in various counties, completing county returns, verifying valuations, reconciling the GL and posting journal entries, and processing payment.

• Process Sales Tax by reconciling GP & Avalara amounts by state, researching discrepancies & correcting, and manually filing a few returns.

• Assist in the preparation of yearly compilation by outside CPA.

• Process all Estimated Tax, Extensions, & Income Tax returns compiled by outside CPA by verifying & organizing, processing payments & mailing, and working with outside CPA to process all notices & refunds.

• Process 1099’s for appropriate Vendors by reconciling payment information & filing 1099’s.

• Generate and Analyze reports on Vendors & General Ledger Accounts.

• Complete special projects as assigned.

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements • Candidate must possess knowledge of Account Coding.

• Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Ability to perform Account Analysis is essential.

• Understanding of Accounting Entries is necessary.

• Proficiency in performing various Accounting Functions is expected.

• Skills in Account Reconciliation are vital.

• Experience or knowledge in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics is a plus.

• No specific years of experience required, making it an ideal opportunity for those seeking an entry-level role in accounting.
