Requisition SummaryThis position is located within the Advanced Technologies organization at the PACCAR Technical Center with a focus on multibody dynamics simulation to support new vehicle design and Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) development. Responsibilities include model development, validation and application, leading & guiding discussions with suppliers concerning requirements and design details to meet performance target. Get started!Division InformationThe PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc. through innovative product development and testing.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain high fidelity full vehicle multi-body dynamics models for handling and stability, loads and durability, and ride comfortConvert the high-fidelity vehicle multi-body dynamics model to or develop a model with right level of fidelity for Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS) simulationsProvide analysis-based guidance for components and system designs by vehicle system simulationsWork closely with the ADAS simulation team to implement the vehicle model and verify its performance relative to environment (road, weather etc.) and the ADAS system configurations.Continuously validate the model fidelity and manage correlations with suppliers' data and on-site testsReport results to stakeholdersQualificationsRequired Qualifications & Skills3+ years of experience with vehicle multi-body dynamics modeling using software such as Altair MotionSolve (preferred) or ADAMSSolid understanding of Modal dynamics, Material mechanics and Linear vibrationsGood understanding of design optimization, edge case identificationExcellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated for challenges and innovationPreferred Qualifications & SkillsExperience with TruckSim and/or dSPACE ASM (lumped parameter modelling)Experience with engineering software such as HyperWorks, OptiStruct/NASTRAN or similar.Proficiency with coding in MATLAB/Simulink environment and/or with other programming languagesExperience with co-simulations including controlsExperience with test sensors, data acquisition equipment, including accelerometers, linear transducers, and microphonesExperience with CAD software: PTC Creo (preferred), SolidWorks etc.EducationM.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Additional Job Board InformationIf you would like more information about what makes PACCAR an excellent place to work, please visit the PACCAR Career Site.PACCAR is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veteran/DisabilityPACCAR is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veteran/Disability.
