The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in the Global Engine team. The Paccar Technical Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the development and validation of emerging technologies such as vehicle electrification and autonomous driving systems. The Paccar Technical Center is located in scenic Mt. Vernon, Washington north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
PACCAR Technical Center is seeking an engine aftertreatment development intern to support the verification and integration of engine aftertreatment systems as part of the PACCAR Global Engines team. Internships includes unique learning opportunities to:
Intern with industry professionals on diesel engine aftertreatment product verification and integration
Execute testing activities in vehicle or engine test cell to verify engine aftertreatment performance
Improve analysis tools, process test data and draw conclusions
Support continuous improvement of test procedures and documentation and give recommendations on next steps.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
Basic knowledge of engine control system strategies and CAN networking
Scripting and data analysis experience desired (MATLAB/Simulink)
Experience with data collection, analysis and test planning is preferred (ATI Vision, Vector CANape/CANalyzer, ETAS INCA)
Must be self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication and presentation skills
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Education
Pursuing a BS or advanced degree in a technical (STEM) field
PACCAR Benefits
Undergraduate Students: $25.00/hour
Graduate Students: $30.00/hour
