PACCAR Inc. OBD Compliance Test Engineer in Mount Vernon, Washington

Requisition Summary PACCAR seeks an engineer to work in its On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Compliance Test Team. The Engineer will work with the OBD development, calibration, and vehicle operations teams, and will support interactions with government agencies. The ideal candidate will combine their technical knowledge and interest in policy to help PACCAR navigate the challenging regulatory environment. Job Functions / Responsibilities Manages and executes engine and aftertreatment diagnostic demonstration and other OBD compliance and validation tests Collaborates with development and calibration engineers in North America and Europe on system design and test methodologies Develops and improves test methodologies Writes reports, incorporating results, conclusions, and recommendations Presents results of tests or investigative projects to management or regulatory agencies Establishes and maintains cooperative and productive work relations with other departments Communicates with management, peers, and division personnel of project status Technical resource for more junior personnel Explores new technologies Travel up to 15% required Qualifications 8 or more years of industry experience with automotive On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively to a broad audience Ability to independently manage projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with automotive testing or troubleshooting with a generic scan tool or manufacturer proprietary tool (Preferred) Working knowledge of CAN systems (Preferred) Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, computer or other engineering discipline or computer science #LI-MH1 Company Information PACCAR is a Fortune 500 company established in 1905.
