Get started!Division InformationThe PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.Requisition SummaryThe second shift Engine Test Technician will work at PACCAR's Engine Test Laboratory (ETL) in Mount Vernon, Washington. Key responsibilities in the ETL include preparing engines for testing, configuring test cell and measurement equipment, and performing engine tests. This position is four ten-hour days and complimented by a 12% shift differential. We offer competitive salary and may include a sign on bonus! No personal tools required as PACCAR supplies a Snap-on toolbox.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesConduct tests on heavy duty diesel engines using a dynamometer cell and test automation softwareFollow technical instructions and work closely with engineering staff to assure engines are performing as requested during testing Prepare engines for dynamometer cell testing, including replacing components and installing measurement instrumentationMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair test enginesTroubleshoot, maintain, and repair engine test cell equipment Support maximum test cell utilization and downtime reduction Maintain detailed electronic records and project documentationMaintain the highest level of work area safety, cleanliness, and organizationKeep abreast of new engine and testing technologies, recommend and implement continuous improvementsPerform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervisionRespond to shifting time and project demands QualificationsExperience working with engines and engine electronicsProficiency in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic engine systemsMust demonstrate independent creativity based on technical theory to solve challenges for which routine solutions are not availableHigh attention to detail, organization, and thoroughnessExcellent mechanical aptitudeStrong computer skills - Microsoft Office and data acquisition software proficiency desiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve common goalsEducationAssociate of Technical Arts Degree in Diesel Power Technology or equivalent degree required.Additional Job Board InformationPACCAR is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veteran/Disability.
