Requisition Summary The PACCAR Global Engine team is looking for a driven Engine Development Engineer to support product development with a specific focus on heavy-duty diesel engine performance of the North American PACCAR engine families. The selected individual will work closely with the global cross-functional team and be responsible for delivering the best performing emissions and OBD compliant engine calibrations for North America. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities Test defects, determine root cause, and provide input for potential resolution and engine software/controls improvements. Interface with turbo supplier providing variant verification and performance transparency support during initial engine tuning and integration activities Work directly with OBD counterparts to build robust diagnostic calibrations for air management system Work within a global team to develop test plans to ensure requirement coverage and quality results Responsible for verifying the accuracy of engine air management estimators in vehicle, test cell, and climatic chassis dyno environments Evaluate functional and technical requirements for engine components and create/execute test plans during offsite vehicle development test trips Provide support to the running business group in the calibration, verification and release of running change software releases Ensure clear communication and documentation of work including creating and updating processes Qualifications 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry General knowledge of engine calibration methods, automotive data acquisition systems, and engine control systems General knowledge of OBD and regulatory requirements Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively multi-cultural environment Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics preferred Ability to travel up to 15% Education BS in appropriate technical field required, MS degree in technical field preferred Paccar Benefits As a U.S. PACCAR employee, you have a full range of benefit options including: Competitive salary and 401k with up to a 5% company match Fully funded pension plan that provides monthly benefits after retirement Comprehensive paid time off - Minimum of 10 paid vacation days, 12 paid holidays, and sick leave Tuition reimbursement for continued education Medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings account (HSA) Paid short-and long-term disability program Life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance EAP services including wellness plans, estate planning, financial counseling and more Additional Job Board Information At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
