Community Action of Skagit County Development Director in Mount Vernon, Washington
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director and directs and the agency's fundraising, communication, and marketing efforts. The Director will develop, lead, and execute a strategic plan for private sector and individual donor cultivation and relationship building, as well as external communications and marketing. The position works closely with the Executive Director, board development committee, and staff to identify and build long-term relationships with current and potential donors, foundations, and sponsors to advance the agency's mission and programs. This is a full time salary exempt position.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Donor Cultivation
1.
Develop and oversee strategic fund development plan.
2.
Steward overall donor cultivation and annual fund development effort.
3.
Develop and manage annual budgets related to fund development and affiliated revenue.
4.
Coordinate calendar of regular donor communications and appeals.
5.
Conduct targeted written and in-person asks related to major donor giving, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, etc.
6.
Lead the development of themes, goals, and strategies around giving events.
7.
Review and advance new strategies for growing endowments, major gifts, and planned giving.
Marketing & Communications
8.
Develop, lead, and execute a strategic plan for donor related communications and marketing.
9.
Develop print and electronic materials to support the annual fundraising goals, including solicitation letters, major donor packets, event invitations, social media posts, etc. Review and approve all development-related materials developed by others.

Liaise with consultants, print vendors, partners, and others to ensure brand fidelity, and impactful data analysis and impact reporting.
Leadership and Management

Provide strategic leadership for agency's foundation grant and relationship development, coordinating with the agency's management team, finance, and grant writer.
