Job Description: Responsibilities and Scope: Reporting to the Sr. Materials Manager, the Purchasing Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the daily activities of the Purchasing and Kanban Coordinator teams, executing our procurement strategies, ensuring we achieve the best value in cost, quality, reliability, service, support and continuity of supply. This role coordinates cross functional relationships, including global sourcing teams, engineering, manufacturing, other Terex locations, management, finance, human resources and aftermarket. The position administrates in accordance with Terex policies and is responsible for the development of team members and driving lean principles within the operation. Essential Functions Administer daily activities of the Buyers and Kanban Coordinators, overseeing the purchase of production materials, indirect supplies and other goods and services meeting department performance targets and compliance to company policies and procedures. Responsible for executing to standards, maintaining metrics and resolving performance gaps. Staffing responsibilities including selection and performance management. Mentors and engages direct staff to train and develop skills. Communicates company standards, values and policies with a strong focus on ethics and integrity. Maintains Team Member work history files including attendance and performance data. Develop and maintain professional relationships with all suppliers, including overseeing on-boarding sessions and periodic business reviews. Ensure that the DMS is fully supported, including running the Purchasing / KBC T3 meeting, attending the Materials T3 meeting, and representation from your team is present for VS T3 meetings. Establish buying strategies for assigned commodities to meet company cost management, inventory control, and quality assurance goals. Maintain awareness of commodity industry trends and develop/implement courses of action to position Terex for an uninterrupted supply of product and services from a qualified supply base. In collaboration with the Global Sourcing Team, obtain competitive bids, analyze costs and negotiate/award contracts to suppliers based on total costs to the company. Oversee buyers doing the same. Identifies process improvement opportunities throughout the supply chain (internal and external). Implements new processes where feasible. Develop and maintain standard work for all processes under their assignment. Serve as backup to Materials peer group, supervising other Materials teams in their absence. Ensures a safe and healthy work environment. Ensures that all Team Members are trained and observe safe practices. Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position. Knowledge and Skills: Requirements: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and 3 years supervisory experience. Proven leadership in supervising a team of people toward common goals and outcomes. Excellent project management skills Proven supplier management and negotiation skills. Technical savvy - able to read technical drawings, specifications and applications. Understanding of manufacturing systems, Lean Manufacturing Principles and material flow systems. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership ability - including coaching, training and performance management. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and multitask. Computer savvy, highly skilled in Microsoft applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP systems. Preferred Attributes: Experience with implementing materials distribution systems and processes Production scheduling, manufacturing and inventory control experience desired.
