Position Summary
Big Bend Community College (BBCC), a rural college serving vibrant, culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for a Director of the Japanese Agricultural Training Program (JATP).
The Director of the Japanese Agricultural Training Program (JATP) is responsible for working closely with staff from the Japan Agriculture Exchange Council (JAEC) to implement the JATP program including developing an annual budget, hiring and managing program staff, and managing the orientation, placement, and monitoring of trainees on host farms and host academic institutions during each program cycle. In addition, this position is responsible to locate and contract with host farms for trainee placement, coordinate with federal and state agencies as required, and oversee all JATP program activities at the college. Trainees come to Big Bend Community College (BBCC) for two months, are placed with a host farm for approximately one year, and then travel to University of California-Davis for additional training in their second summer and fall before returning home.

Essential Job Duties
Primary essential responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
Provide JATP Program Guidance and Oversight
Develop, monitor, and maintain administrative and operations MOUs for JATP.
Develop and manage BBCC Operations and Administration budget, and Institutional Training budget.
Oversee the curriculum and program activities for JATP.
Recruit, hire, and train all JATP faculty and staff.
Oversee the development, ordering, and management of JATP instruction materials, textbooks, and supplies.
Oversee and approve adjustments to the calendar and schedule of JATP instruction and extracurricular activities.
Work with the college administration and staff to arrange for rooms, transportation, and food services for JATP.
