About the Position

Are you someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced growing construction environment? Do you have a passion and success with assisting with managing teams and projects? If so, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to begin working on a large wastewater treatment plant construction site based out of our Moses Lake, Eastern Washington region with occasional travel required to other offices. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the project team and project management to develop a project construction plan and address project constructability challenges. The APM will manage project progress through schedule updates and cost tracking, review and develop change orders and force account pricing, and support the project team through administrative responsibilities like submittals, RFI’s, and correspondence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) is emphasized throughout all phases of the project

  • Establishing a collaborative work environment for the project team members

  • Procurement of equipment and materials, and effective communication of this procurement to the project team

  • Demonstrate effective internal working relationships with company management, administration staff, and skilled craft peers.

  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal staff.

  • Preparing written communications and reports.

  • Assisting with controlling the project’s cost and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place

  • Aid in forecasting resource needs on the project, using IMCO's internal systems.

    Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 anticipated annual salary. DOE.

  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage available on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.

  • 401(k) match on eligible wages and available for eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.

  • 100% contribution matching up to 4% of the employee-eligible wages.

  • A fuel card and company vehicle will be provided for business-related travel.

    Location & commitments

  • Project Location – Moses Lake, Washington

  • Travel Requirements – Travel to our corporate office in Ferndale once a week until the Project site kick-off happens in October 2024. October through July 2025 will be based solely out of Moses Lake, WA. Required weekly travel accommodations will be paid by employer.

  • Project scope and duration – The job is set for completion in July 2024. Additional exciting projects have been secured in the PNW area providing employees with stable, consistent work past the completion of the Moses Lake project.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    We are seeking a construction professional who is a self-starter, has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make confident decisions. The APM will be responsible for maintaining healthy, positive relationships with clients as well as monitoring construction and financial activities through information provided by our project software and aid in the administrative direction of on-site personnel.

  • A minimum of 4 years of project management experience in water or wastewater construction.

  • Accredited four-year bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Construction management, engineering, or another technical field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.

  • Experience reading and understanding process and instrumentation diagrams required.

  • Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within IMCO and with clients and partners.

  • Experience in Estimating is a plus but not required.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, and delegation skills, with strong organizational capabilities and focus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-effective manner.

  • Command of essential project control functions, including scheduling, planning, forecasting, estimating, and cost management.

  • Successfully demonstrated experience conducting and coordinating technical and management aspects of projects.

  • Strong technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and implement effective solutions.

  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Pre-employment drug testing required.
