Job Title: Systems Mechanic

Job Description

The Systems Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and modification tasks related to C-Checks and VIP Modification of 787-9 aircraft. The role involves completing maintenance and performing remove/replace/repair activities of all aircraft systems except Avionics and Interiors, which are managed by dedicated teams. Additionally, there is a military VIP large jet due for C-check. The position involves working on multiple large and complex VIP modifications of 787 aircraft, which includes tasks such as removing the entire passenger configuration, moving business class seats, installing large conference room/seating/bedroom modules, rewiring for new systems, and performing C-checks when required.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, modify, replace, or perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized areas of aircraft.

  • Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data.

  • Complete on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required readings.

  • Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.

  • Conduct operational tests.

  • Remove and install flight control surfaces and components.

  • Perform weight and balance calculations including flight control surfaces.

  • Perform rigging and operational tests of all flight control surfaces including autopilot.

  • Troubleshoot flight control systems.

  • Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify structures and flight controls.

  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures.

  • 4+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on a variety of systems

  • 787 experience highly preferred

  • A&P certification preferred

Work Environment

Work in recently renovated hangars and offices at MWH. The facility is owned and operated by our client's customer who engineers the modifications, while the large hangar space with two aircraft, storerooms, and inventory is managed by our client. The shift is from 0600 to 1430, with extended hours until 1630 on most days except Friday when we close at 1430. Work is usually available on Saturdays and Sundays. Expect to work 50 hours per week or more.

This is a Contract position based out of Moses Lake, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
