    JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Works under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for daily operations and oversight of the Imaging Services departments and staff. Adheres to all hospital Policies and Procedures, while exhibiting the EvergreenHealth Monroe Standards of Excellence. Assumes responsibility for maintenance of standards as applicable and development of innovative approaches toward improvement of services provided. Develops and institutes plans aimed at coordination of imaging services. Provides ongoing personnel management and evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

    Requires active WA State Radiology Technologist (RT) license in good standing, current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Bachelor of Science preferred. Attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills required. Previous management and leadership experience required, with financial management experience preferred. Demonstrated clinical expertise in area standards. Will complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100 and 700 healthcare certification within 60 days of employment.

    SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Demonstrated clinical expertise in one diagnostic imaging modality at minimum.

    2. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    3. Possess a working knowledge of healthcare quality measures and safety initiatives, regulatory requirements, financial management, and vendor/external partnerships.

    4. Must be versatile, cooperative, self-motivated, and have good customer service skills.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

    Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and BBP. Risks to include exposure to communicable disease, hazardous substances, and risk of physical injury from lifting patients.

    WORK CONTACT GROUP: All hospital departments, patients, physicians, visitors and office staff.

    SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and transport and transfer patients. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Walks, stands, and sits for periods of time.

    SUPERVISES: All Diagnostic Imaging Departments and employees, including but not limited to: X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and Dexa.

    Essential Functions/Technical

  • Provides frequent performance feedback to employees, completes performance evaluations in a timely manner, and facilitates employee success through coaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities to expand their skills and knowledge; manages employee performance concerns effectively using support resources within the organization and documents interventions and outcomes appropriately.

  • Communicates regularly and effectively, including conducting regular department staff meetings, with all employees within the department or service unit regarding organization operations.

  • Promotes a safe environment of care, complying with all regulations, through orientation and ongoing training of employees, policy development, and maintenance of appropriate documentation and records.

  • Ensures that the operating policies and procedures of the department or service unit comply with hospital policy and regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies including DNV and Department of Health. Assists in the development, review and revision of organizational policies and procedures.

  • For the department or service unit, provides leadership that contributes to the financial effectiveness of the organization. To do this: (a) prepares and recommends an annual operating budget; (b) uses formal measurement and analysis techniques to recommend, review, and measure financial outcomes and decisions; (c) monitors budgetary indicators on an ongoing basis; (d) reviews budget variances, including staffing; and (e) institutes corrective measures to meet financial targets.

  • Participates in strategic planning and budgeting processes and develops action plans that ensure that both the department or service unit and the organization achieve annual objectives.

  • Administers the development, revision and presentation of an orientation program for staff as assigned to Imaging Services.

  • Identifies number and level of personnel required to provide patient care, and adjusts staffing and assignments appropriately based upon abilities and limitations of staff. May be required to assist clinically.

  • Works closely with employees to ensure required competencies are completed and practice is meeting all regulatory rules and regulations.

  • Actively participates in Leadership Council and other hospital meetings and committees.

  • Communicates regularly with Chief Administrative Officer regarding contract development, HR and employee issues, programs, dynamics, and other departmental functions as assigned.

  • Assumes responsibility for conflict resolution involving staff, patients, families, physicians and other departments.

  • Performs outreach as directed to staff physicians, community groups and other healthcare organizations to further EHM interests, build and develop relationships, and promote community education.
