Job Description

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our experience and capabilities span multiple segments of an aircraft, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and the interior. Our success is based on utilizing proprietary manufacturing techniques to produce high-quality complex parts through cost-effective production. Given our breadth of capabilities and strong customer relationships, we have substantial content on the aviation industry's most popular aircraft. The CMM Programmer 2 creates offline CMM programs utilized for inspection and verification of features to customer engineering on CMM’s.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine which features to inspect, verify, and report.

  • Write CMM program headers including setup instruction sheets.

  • Write CMM programs within the PC-DMIS software.

  • Revise programs as required, eliminating errors or omissions.

  • Perform CMM inspection on first runs, proving out program and setup instructions.

  • Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.

  • Perform surface plate inspections and other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to collaborate with external and internal customers and suppliers, including Engineering, Manufacturing, CNC Programming, and Quality (Inspectors and Engineers), to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.

  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and concentrate on workload for extended periods of time.

  • Minimum of 10 years hands-on inspection experience operating a CMM in a regulated industry.

  • Three to five years (recent) inspection experience operating a CMM in the aerospace industry.

  • Certification in Advanced Level CAD systems (CATIA and AutoCAD).

  • Excellent GD&T technical and working knowledge and exceptional inspection skills using CMM’s.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Team player with the ability to work in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Ability to provide technical assistance to manufacturing and inspection personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Two years CMM machine inspection experience (recent).

  • Three years Quality Assurance experience (recent).

  • Working knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, height gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.

  • Previous CMM Programming experience.

  • Previous CATIA software experience preferred.

  • Leadership experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $43.00/hr.
