Job Description: Work with the production group and plant supervisor/leads in designing, planning, preparing, and releasing designs, and creating manufacturing methods. Must have ability to apply a wide range of design experience and perform a variety of semi-routine tasks, under minimum supervision, in support of location manufacturing and production needs. Will also participate in ensuring continuous improvement of product flow, quality, and efficiencies.
Essential functions and responsibilities to include but not limited to: 1.Respond timely to quote requests with drawing and technical documentation including but not limited to ability to develop & maintain plans, drawings, diagrams, and models in accordance with specifications, norms, and techniques. 2. Draft and input bill of materials into MSP applications. 3. Participate in developing layout and specification sheets 4. Write technical documentation 5. Participate in design and discussions meetings 6. Prepare layouts and perform drafting tasks from simple instructions in order to determine best options and demonstrate/apply a broad knowledge of Autodesk CAD software 7. Develop high quality detailed documents while demonstrating a commitment to following company standards. 8. Coordinate changes with other disciplines such as product development, planning, purchasing, and manufacturing 9. Respond timely and accurately to requests via telephone, fax, e-mail, etc. 10. Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: 1. Associate of Art (2 year degree) in AutoCAD or related field or equivalent combined work and education experience 2. Experience with AutoCAD as related to drawing production and associated workflows 3. Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills 4. Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and issues with proven ability to successfully meet deadlines as well as project implementation goals and priorities 5. Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills to include an ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization 6. Strong Attention to Detail 7. Ability to work 8-10 hours overtime on weekdays, and/or weekends as required Preferred Qualifications: 1. Understanding of door manufacture design and processes 2. 10+ years of manufacturing experience in durable goods field Benefits Available to Eligible Express Associates:
