About the Opportunity

The Capital Strategy and Planning Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the effective communication, community involvement, and logistical management of capital projects aligned with Sno-Isle Libraries' vision and goals. This role is essential in fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing project-related communications, and managing logistics to support the successful execution of capital initiatives.

This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME Council 2.

Job Location: Marysville, WA

Essential Functions

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies for capital projects (in collaboration/act as liaison with the Marketing and Communications team).
  2. Craft clear, engaging content for internal and external audiences, including reports, presentations, and updates.
  3. Write and coordinate project-related communications, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
  4. Collect, organize, and distribute project documentation and informational materials.
  5. Facilitate engagement activities with both staff and the public, enhancing community involvement and support for capital projects.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to involve stakeholders in project planning and decision-making processes.
  7. Craft summaries and reports of results of engagement activities. Collate and organize documentation.
  8. Serve as a key liaison between Sno-Isle Libraries and the community, addressing inquiries and feedback.
  9. Collect, organize, collate, and distribute strategic planning and evaluation documentation and informational materials.
  10. Organize and track vendor, partner, and funding source documentation, including budget tracking.
  11. Contribute to developing short- and long-term capital strategies, including infrastructure expansion and budget planning.
  12. Serve on interdepartmental teams or cross-functional groups to support project and departmental objectives.
