Skookum is seeking a reliable and hard-working Grounds Maintenance Lead with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Implement weekly grounds work plan. Ensure a minimum of 5 full mows are performed each grow season from March 1st through October 1st meeting contract standards. Implement weekly winter grounds plan for off season work from October 1st to March 1st meeting contract standards. Work including annual haul route, tree trimming, utilidor's etc. Morning crew meeting to clarify daily schedule and expectations including any safety issues/hazards. Report and assist completion of any safety issues to Supervisor immediately. End of day documentation indicating services performed including location. Oversee the organization and cleanliness of equipment shop. Schedule, oversee and assist in performing weekly general equipment maintenance and report any damage or issues to Supervisor/Site Mechanic. Help develop a task specific safety plan to ensure the wellbeing of all ground's employees. Assist Site Supervisor/Site Safety Representative in conducting successful monthly safety training. Knowledge of all equipment used to include specific safety concerns and proper PPE for all. Coach, mentor and address employee concerns in a respectful manner. Provide feedback to Supervisor on work related issues, including those that might lead to disciplinary actions. Document daily attendance related matters including no call no show, sick, vacation, misc. time off requests with Supervisor or Pay Administrator. Act as a positive representative of the company and maintain professionalism in appearance, attitude and demeanor. Ability to professionally communicate with Navy Customer and BOSC. Perform mowing, trimming, edging, weed and brush control. Pick up and remove all rubbish, debris, and trash (which includes, but is not limited to; rocks, paper, pinecones, limbs, and other portable objects) within the maintenance area and all trash, papers and limbs lodged in shrubs, hedges, fences, and along foundation walls.
