Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position is responsible for the health of the Reaction Analysis (RA) business in the west coast region. Specific focus on pharmaceutical and high-value chemical markets that need advanced applications, product technical knowledge, and business development. The position requires strategic thinking, the ability to work closely with the territory, bio, product development, software, and service teams. As a recognized expert on the application of the ReactIR and ReactRaman, and basic knowledge of the RXE/CSS products (EasyMax, OptiMax, RX10, and Easy Sampler, software, and service portfolio), you will establish strong peer-based relationships with scientists and engineers in the field, while ensuring sustainable growth of the business in their accounts. Additional responsibilities will include: Executing programs following the annual business plan to develop business and achieve the target sales number. Identifying sales opportunities for AutoChem products within the accounts/territory in the west coast region. Developing strong application knowledge and depth to serve as a recognized expert for process optimization and development in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and academic markets. Executing technical sales consultative support during the sales process, including pre and post sales visits, including onsite seminars, technical consulting, and application feasibility tests (and reporting data). Post sale support of existing customers on an ongoing basis with high level product training and application support to drive repeat sales. Identifying and developing application solutions that provide high value to the pharmaceutical and high-value chemical markets. Cross selling all AutoChem products aligned with the strategic value selling stories. Directing the transfer of knowledge and data from application feasibility studies, industrial, and academic applications and technical journals and publications to product management for development. What You Need to Succeed PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline required. Minimum 3 years industry experience in chemistry or chemical engineering, or sales in reactor and PAT technology. Ability to travel up to 75% across the western territory, anything west of Illinois. Strong interest in business development and technical sales. SAP knowledge preferred. This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
