Program Assistant (AHE/NURS)

 

SALARY: $37,740 - $42,444

 

LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington

 

DESCRIPTION:   

Edmonds College is seeking a full-time program assistant for the Allied Health and Nursing programs. The Program Assistant works with the Program Specialist to provide administrative support for two healthcare programs: Allied Health (AHE) and Nursing (NURS), and also provides backup for the Health and Human Services Division office as needed.  This is a reception style position with a front facing desk and a steady flow of in-person interactions and phone calls.  The Program Assistant is responsible for providing  information and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and the general public regarding the AHE and NURS classes, policies, procedures, and activities, and for assisting with office, classroom, and lab supply purchasing and budget tracking. In addition, the Program Assistant keeps minutes for meetings, places book orders for faculty, and maintains web pages,  as well as helping to develop brochures, flyers, charts, and other documents for the programs.

This is a classified position reporting to the AHE/NURS Program Specialist.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate of Arts Degree AND a minimum of two years clerical experience OR comparable education and experience.
  • Proficient with computer technology skills for Word, Excel, and Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Drive.
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience tracking and monitoring budgets.
  • Experience maintaining and updating website content.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an office/lab setting, and onsite/in-person. Work is generally stationary, sitting down with students or in front of the computer for most of the day. The ability to speak clearly on the telephone and use a computer is required. Occasional early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening) may be required.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

 

COMPENSATION:  

Salary range 37.  Beginning salary is $37,740 - $42,444  annually, with progressive increases to $50,088, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 2 personal leave days, and 14 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).
