Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Lead Software Engineer in Lynnwood, Washington

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the specification, design, implementation, deployment, and testing of software applications.

Recommend and implement processes following industry best practices for developing, testing, and deploying software.

Prepare and maintain designs and specification documentation.

Mentor Software Engineers, Associate Software Engineers, and Interns.

Serve as a technical contact for internal customers.

Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Understand. Create. Simplify.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalentTypically 6+ years of experience in software engineering

2+ years of experience in one or both of the following areas:

  • Containerized Application Development

  • Microservice Architecture and Development (Go strongly preferred)

  • Site Reliability

  • Managed Container Deployments

  • Web Application Development

  • JavaScript + React

  • RESTful APIs

  • User Interface Design

  • User Experience

Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Experience programming in Go

DevOps Experience (GitOps, Docker, Kubernetes)

Certified Kubernetes App Developer or Administrator

Familiarity with multiple cloud technology vendors
