The Corporate Counsel -- Product and Compliance is responsible for providing legal advice to ensure Volpara and our products comply with relevant laws and regulations across global markets. This role will collaborate with our product/engineering, operations, regulatory, and commercial business teams on a variety of matters applicable to product development, market access, and development of sales channels. This role requires a proactive, flexible, and positive mindset and someone who is a problem-solver at their core.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues applicable to Volpara's products, including compliance with newly developing regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Partner closely with go-to-market and operational teams to manage risks, identify legal issues, and drive decision-making.
  • Proactively monitor developments in, advise on, and collaborate with other counsel and functions on data privacy, data protection, and artificial intelligence regulatory matters.
  • Develop and implement employee training to educate employees on regulations and industry practices.
  • Assist General Counsel in building scalable and effective processes for the legal function.

     

What you will bring to the role:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and member in active good standing of a state bar.
  • 6+ years of experience advising on regulatory compliance issues specific to healthcare or medical device (in-house or at a corporate law firm)
  • Legal experience advising and working on software product and technology-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to analyze complex legal problems and drive resolution through practical solutions that satisfy multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work remotely, with a preference for West Coast (San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, or Seattle, WA).
  • Proof of COVID 19 vaccination required, except in limited circumstances where a legally recognized medical or religious exemption may be able to be accommodated.

     

What you will receive:

Salary range: $180,000 - $200,000 per year, full time equivalent. Benefits include the option to participate in medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances; a 401K plan with a company match; and generous paid time off.
