Summary of Responsibilities

The billing support specialist is responsible with assisting in the procurement and management of the delinquent move out accounts listed for collections by our managed properties. In addition, the position will perform administrative tasks, account maintenance and other property billing oriented job duties.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

· Set up and manage national accounts in the debt collections management system.

· Contact customers regarding payment of overdue move-out balances, obtain customer payment commitments and forecast monthly collections.

· Resolve customer inquiries regarding billing issues, policies, and processes.

· Conducts training in debt management system and Yardi Voyager as it relates to debt management for property associates.

· Manage the allocation of delinquent accounts to external collection agencies.

· Manage detailed records of collection efforts, status, and trends.

· Ensure compliance with all Avenue5, Federal/state collection and credit regulations, laws and guidelines.

· On-board and off-board outstanding debt as required when properties are bought and sold.

· Participate in special projects and other administrative tasks as requested.

Education and Experience

· High School diploma or equivalent is required.

· Three to five years of billing or collections work is preferred.

· Property management experience is preferred.

· Knowledge of debt or billing collections platforms is preferred.

· Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or other equivalent system is preferred.

Skills and Requirements

· Basic level knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.

· Detail oriented and desire to learn.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.

· Strong interpersonal skills to effectively and sensitively communicate with all levels of management.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Demonstrated aptitude with dealing with demanding client needs and demonstrates effective conflict resolution telephone skills.

· Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion training within the first 30 days of employment.

Scheduling

· Typically, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Environment

· Exposure to environment typically found in an office building.
