Lynnwood Motoplex Apprentice Technician / Motorcycle Repairer in Lynnwood, Washington

Inspect, diagnose and test ride the vehicles before and after repair and maintenance work to ensure the proper functioning and repair, record items that need attention on the unit repair order

Adjust, repair and overhaul motorcycles, scooter, sling-shots, mopeds, dirt bikes and similar motorized vehicles in a timely manner according to the manufacturer's instructions 

Examine, install, replace, assemble and reassemble vehicle subassemblies and accessories 

Maintain technical qualification and learn new technical information and techniques from the Senior Technician, and / or in On-the-Job Training sessions to gain technical knowledge, skills and experience 

Accept work assignments from Senior Technician and Service Manager, assist Service Writer, when requested, with writing up work orders, communicating with customers, test riding, or any other issue which will help ensure customer satisfaction.

Follow the shop and safety rules as instructed by the employer

Keep the workbench and work area neat and clean and account for dealership owned tools

Notify the Senior Technician of additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known.

Keep accurate documentation of repairs, parts inventory, and special projects, ensure proper completion and filing of paperwork, both manually and on a computer

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of motorcycles, ATV or personal watercraft (hands-on testing for a simple mechanical task during the interview will be required). WORKING ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE, OR ATV: 1 year (Required)
  • High school diploma,
  • Ability to operate motorcycles and ATV's,
  • Valid Washington driver's license with motorcycle endorsement,
  • Ability to work and safely handle the tools
  • Proficiency with computer, knowledge of Excel, Word, and Email
  • Ability to follow through on specific instruction, manufacturer's manuals, understand language of technical instructions
  • Ability to work with directions to finish the assigned work
  • Ability to bend, stop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift 50lbs of material, to balance and push an 800+lb motorcycle.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 per week, 8 hour shift, in workshop (remote or online work is not possible)
