Position: Para Educator 3 -- Preschool -- Main Street Campus
Level 3 High Impact Para: Para educators work under the direct supervision of certificated staff at the Pre School, Transitional Kindergarten classrooms, or in ELRC programs at all grade levels. Responsibilities may include: assisting high needs students with self-care tasks such as toileting, dressing, feeding, while encouraging them to learn to do these tasks independently; working with students who have severe disabilities, multiple disabilities, significant behavior concerns and/or are physically aggressive and who need continuous support throughout the day to be successful.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet "highly qualified" requirement in one of the following ways:

``` - All newly hired Para Educators will need a high school diploma or its equivalent and have completed two years of college or an associate's degree. If you do not have two years of college, you must have passed the ETS test for paraprofessional. Documentation of each of these items are required at the time of hire

``` - Previous successful experience working with preschool-age students in a school setting - Experience supporting the needs of students with disabilities and medical needs preferred - Ability to work in small-group setting - Ability to engage and respond to students of a wide range of physical, social, cognitive and behavioral needs - Experience academically assisting students - Ability to relate, interact, and communicate with parents/students - Experience working with English Language Learners preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be able to contribute positively to a team effort
- Relates well to students, parents and colleagues
- Able to effectively communicate through oral and written language with others
- Assist teachers in the preparation of relevant educational tools and materials for classroom use

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work Year: 2024-25 school year; continuing position
*Hours: * 6 hours per day; 8:45 am -- 3:15 pm; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Starting Date: January 6, 2025
Salary: $26.72 to $33.47; depending on school district para educator experience
Benefits: This position qualifies for healthcare benefits (medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance), retirement benefits, up to 12 days of sick leave, and up to three (3) days of personal leave per school year. (Days of sick leave and personal leave are prorated based on employee start date.)
