GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE WORKER

* *Granite Point Resort is a family-owned business set on beautiful Loon Lake, WA that has served vacationers in the Pacific Northwest for 100 years. We are a well-loved summer institution with a reputation for having some of the best lakefront access and beach in the region. Many of our guests have been coming for generations, and we strive to make every visit to the Resort the very best of its kind for our guests.  

If you enjoy working outdoors in a team environment and enjoy maintaining, repairing, and beautifying anything from lawns, buildings, facilities, and equipment, and would like to do so in a beautiful lake setting, this might be the perfect job for you!

We are looking for friendly, energetic, responsible, honest, and hard-working individuals with keen attention to detail to join our seasonal maintenance and grounds crew. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Raking, mowing, fertilizing, irrigation, trash collection, and general beautification and maintenance on a routine basis. The resort is roughly 20 acres and has approximately 1 mile of sandy beach that is raked and cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Painting, cleaning exterior of cottages, pressure washing concrete pads and general clean-up of specified areas of the resort.
  • Maintaining a well-mannered, caring, and helpful attitude with guests and other staff members. Our guests are our number one priority!
  • Other skills that are helpful but not required are mechanical aptitude, flower garden planning and maintenance, and/or previous landscaping experience.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to lift and or/move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand up to 8 hours per day. Length of time of tasks may vary.
  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of hands-on general maintenance, construction, or landscaping experience
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Trade school and/or military training or industry designation
  • Valid driver's license preferred (but not required)

This is a seasonal position roughly April through September. The work schedule may be flexible depending on weather and resort needs.

Pay: $16.28 to $19 per hour based on experience and aptitude
