Examples of Duties & Responsibilities *Serves as lead employee in food preparation, serving, dishwashing and sanitization functions for Early Learning Center program *Prepares and cooks USDA lunches and snacks *Weighs, prepares, and serves meals to meet special diet requirements *Performs cleaning duties; washes dishes and utensils; walls and counters in kitchen, wipes down shelves and other storage areas. *Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment such as crock pots, toaster, dishwasher, etc. *Receives food from vendors *Rotates and inventories food & supplies weekly *Carefully monitors meals for allergens and provides substitutions for children with allergies and intolerances *other duties as assigned. *Use inventory systems to assist with food purchase *Other related duties This description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, effort, work conditions, and benefits associated with the job. Typical QualificationsMinimum qualifications *High school diploma or equivalent *Possession of or eligible for a food handler permit and one year of experience in quality or institutional food preparation and serving *Knowledge of operation and maintenance of kitchen and dining room; large scale preparation of food; personal hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping practices; safety precautions; operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment *Ability to lead staff direct others in and perform food preparation, serving, and cleaning Prior to first day of employment *Washington State Portable Background Check *Department of Child youth and Family services Portable Background check *TB test *Food Handlers card *Proof of MMR The minimum qualifications may seem specific and limiting, but we do consider candidates with relatable education, experience, and skills.
