JHK Safety Professionals play an integral role in our company! This role will join our All-Star project team and be a dedicated resource to a large industrial project in Longview, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct new-hire orientations
Pro-actively communicate safety and loss control policies and procedures
Work with the project team to proactively plan upcoming work to ensure safe execution
Coordinate/monitor substance abuse program
Provide information for weekly safety meetings
Continual hazard assessment
Basic first-aid response
Caring for injured workers, including transportation to and from appointments, maintaining direct communication with medical providers, and monitoring modified duty job placement.
Accident/incident investigations, reporting and recordkeeping
Being accessible to answer any safety-related questions or concerns
Coordinate with, manage, and monitor subcontractors’ safety on a project
Providing additional training to workers i.e. respirator training, forklift operation, fall protection
Relationships:
Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts, including shop and field craft personnel.
Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams.
Experience / Qualifications:
Experienced Safety Professional with 5-10 years of field experience, degree preferred but not required
Industrial background preferred (cranes, rigging, welding & steel erection experience)
Experience on large capital projects in a supervisory role preferred
Experience managing self-perform and subcontract work
CHST certification preferred
First Aid/CPR
OSHA 10 or 30-hour training
Competent Person for scaffolding, fall protection, and excavations.
Valid driver’s license
Necessary Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate in a team environment & develop strong working relationships
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to apply knowledge of regulations to field construction environment
Able to climb stairs and ladders
Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations as they apply the job site safety
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, heights, outdoor weather, and noise.

Compensation: $30-$45 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
