Cowlitz PUD's Power Management Business Unit is seeking an experienced Project Engineer who is goal driven, knowledgeable in Engineering Project Management with experience in preparation and delivery of project deliverables, schedules, budgets, design documents, and bid packages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering, project management, and construction management services relating to the District's generation resources.  This is a new position to Cowlitz PUD that will be providing project management support, including quotes and bids for major construction, maintenance, and repair projects, and permitting, in accordance with District policies for our Power Resources Department. Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level degree in Engineering (BSEE preferred) and 5 to 7 years construction/project management experience in a utility or generation facility setting.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Construction Management Professional (PMP) certification

Work Environment: The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Standard work hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Remote work is not available for this position.
  • It should be expected that the majority of work will be conducted in the field at our Swift Hydro Power plant and other District owned generating facilities.
  • This position may require project support outside of normal working hours.
