Weyerhaeuser's Export Facility has an opening for a Journey Level Mechanic located in Longview, WA. This is a full-time, hourly position. Employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include medical, dental, vision, 401k, vacation, and holidays. Pay starts at $35.555, with the ability to move up to $39.555 after meeting competencies outlined in union agreement. The successful candidate must be willing to work different shifts, as required.

Key Functions:

• Welding and fabrication
• General machine assembly and machine alignment experience
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• LeTourneau high voltage troubleshooting, and repair is preferred
• General mill yard stacker and shovel maintenance and repair experience a plus
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
• Able to handle multiple projects effectively
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance
• Willing to flow to work across job boundaries
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills
• Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to demonstrate open, honest and regular exchange of information; and treat all employees with respect and dignity

• Must be team oriented; put team’s needs ahead of individual interests; work to develop trust and respect; take initiative and solve issues; accept personal accountability for team’s plans and results

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Solid work history with 5 years of previous mechanic experience
• Availability to work all shifts
• Ability to work safely and adhering to log yard safety procedures
• Successfully complete a physical, drug screen and background check

Compensation:**Your wages and benefits are set by the labor agreement between Weyerhaeuser and the union representing employees at this work site. The pay rate starts at $35.555, with the ability to move up to $39.555 after meeting competencies outlined in union agreement.
